​The IIE Diploma in accounting is designed to produce graduates who are competent in both the theory and practice of accounting in all organizations. This IIE qualification aims to satisfy the growing demand for offering in-depth study in the accounting field. Research has demonstrated a demand for theoretical and practical training in accounting practice to manage financial tasks and functions competently within small enterprises, or at a relatively junior level in larger ones.

Course Outline

On Campus

This is a three-year full-time qualification offered by The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) at IIE Rosebank College. Face-to-face lectures take place during the day on weekdays at the following campuses: Braamfontein, Cape Town, Durban, and Pretoria CBD.

SKILLS YOU WILL DEVELOP 

This IIE Diploma in Business Accounting equips students with accounting skills to be able to work in and manage the accounts of a small, medium, and micro enterprise (SMME). Students with sound numeracy skills, who would like to pursue a career in accounting, specifically cost and management accounting, will benefit from this IIE qualification.

Device Requirements

DEVICE AND CONNECTIVITY SPECIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR ONLINE STUDY:

  • Reliable internet connection (we recommend 5-10 GB of data per month and an internet speed of at least 0.15 Mbps)
  • Desktop PC or laptop with at least an i3 processor and 4GB RAM memory
  • Windows 8 or macOS 10.15 (Microsoft Office 365 is available as a free download for IIE students), and Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge Chromium or Firefox
  • A working webcam and microphone
  • An uninterrupted power supply is also highly recommended
